Brain cancer kills more people under the age of 40 than any other cancer. As such it devastates young families, leaving parents without children and children without parents. In Sue’s Name was set up as a local brain tumour charity in memory of our beautiful daughter Sue Blasotta who died in 2011 from brain tumours, aged just 42, leaving two young children.
WHAT WE DO
We’re focused on raising funds for research into brain tumours, and bringing together families who have lost loved ones from this cruel disease. As less than 1 per cent of Government funding for cancer research goes into this area, we’re aiming to raise £1 million over the next ten years to provide research funds for the local brain tumour charity the Blizard Institute in Whitechapel.
We’re looking for volunteers to help with fundraising; people to take part in athletic events (running, cycling, swimming etc.); company sponsorship; raffle and auction prizes; celebrity contacts who could act as Ambassadors for our charity; organisations such as Rotary, Round Table, Lions etc. who would allow us to come and speak about our charity.
Named in honor of a very special lady; Sue Blasotta, our aim is to raise awareness of brain cancers – the leading cause of cancer-related death in the UK of patients under the age of 45 years old.
We want to support clinical research into brain cancers and to offer a forum of support to brain cancer sufferers and the families of sufferers.
